Favorite Thrift/Yard Sale Finds..

Today it's all about those neat finds at thrift stores and/or yard sales. I enjoy going thrifting and to yard sales to see what goodies I can find. Rhoda over at www.southernhospitality-rhoda.blogspot.com is hosting this little blog party.. Visit her blog to find more great ideas and cool thrift finds!

I found these two chairs from a consignment shop. I'd been looking for two matching chairs to put with the table in the picture too. The table belonged to my husband's grandmother. When I saw the chairs in the store, I was so excited. They matched perfectly! They were $20 each.

I found this picture in a thrift store the same week as I found those chairs. My guest room has a nautical look to it and this picture was a great find. It is a nice size and goes over the bed well. I believe this was $20 also.

I had been wanting some old kitchen scales for a while. When I saw these scales, I had to get them. I love the rust on them. I found it in an antique store in GA and just wiped them down when we got home. I think they are a nice touch to my kitchen.

Happy Thrifting!

You've added the table & chairs since I've been over. They look great. You'll have to tell me what thrift store you go to, because I never have any luck.

Nice chairs, looks like you could eat at that table if you use the, the...what are those called? Leaves? The wood that is folded down...cannot think of the name of them for the life of me, lol.

Very nice finds :)

Nice to meet you :)

Alyce, I saw where you were asking about doing links...it's easy. When you're in your post, there's a little icon that looks like a strange symbol with green under it..that's a hyper link. All you do is type what you want to be the link (name or whatever), then highlight that NAME...then right-click & copy the link you want to paste, click on that hyperlink symbol & it will bring up a box. You right-click & paste the URL into that box & then close it. The NAME you typed will then be a hot link! It's easy once you do it.

I love the chairs, they go well with your table. And I love the scales. I just read someone's blog who had theirs displayed in a basket with receipe books and it looked sooooo cute!

Those chairs are so cute! Great find! Of course I love the scale. :)

Ok, to link, While you are typing a post there should be a button at the top by where you change your font, add pics and stuff like that. It looks like a green thing with a chain on it. Highlight "Rhoda" and then click on the link button and type (or I paste) the address in. Click ok and that should be it. Let me know if you are confused!

It's so hard to find matching chairs so the fact that you did, and that they are lovely, AND that they were $20 is amazing! Nice work (and I love that scale...only one I've seen today on my thrifting blog crawl :-).

Hi Alyce, it's been awhile since I read Andrews books, I had forgotten about the language. Best I can remember, it's not as bad on in to it. The language in most books like that is pretty bad, so I have started reading alot of Christian fiction, ...Beverly Lewis, Lori Wick, Kim Vogel Sawyer, ...and my new favorite is the Redemption Series and Firstborn Series by Karen Kingsbury w/ Gary Smalley. I've read a few from both series and they are great! I love all of these writer's Amish series! They are so uplifting!

Oh, and I live out from Wilmington. I am about half way between Wilmington & Myrtle Beach, in the boonies! LOL! We usually head to southeast Va., around Labor Day to the Hillsville, Va....the town-wide labor day antique/flea market. We love that area up there! Are you anywhere near there? That is beautiful country! Love the produce there, too!

Hope is is a little cooler in Va, than in NC! We are miserable here! LOL! ~Rhonda
