Gearing up for Fall....

Fall is just around the corner and with cooler weather approaching, I think of bread. Banana bread, Pumpkin bread, Zucchini bread. They're all so good. This summer I made several loaves of zucchini and banana bread and put them in the freezer so that I can just pop them out during the fall. Today it has been cloudy and the temps have dropped some (still warm but not HOT) and it made me ready for some bread. I took out a loaf of Banana Nut w/ Chocolate Chips! Yummy...I couldn't wait for it to thaw as you can see in the picture!

Banana Nut Bread w/ Chocolate Chips

1 stick butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
4 tablespoons milk
1 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
2 to 3 well ripe bananas
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, add eggs, beat well, add flour mixed w/ soda, add milk. Blend well. Add nuts and bananas. Fold in chocolate chips. Bake in a greased loaf pan for about 35 minutes at 350 degrees.

Don't you want to bring me some tonight? ;-D

Looks delish. You're such a Martha! I'll have to try this. I think Beth P. has actually made it...one similar at least. It was yummy.

Hi Alyce,

Thanks so much for the birthday wish.

I just made banana bread. I'm feeling like "Fall" but the weather isn't. We are supposed to get 110 degrees this weekend. :-( I can't wait for the cooler temps. I know they are just around the corner.

Oh my gosh, that looks yummy! My favorite is pumpkin bread w/choc chips. I have several pumpkin recipes I make in the fall. I make pumpkin choc chip cookies too, and my kids love them.

Thanks for sharing your recipes.

And wasn't the weather BEAUTIFUL today!!

Hey, Alyce, thanks for stopping by to see me. You were asking about Murphy, NC. It's just over the Georgia line in the western part of NC, about 2 hours from Atlanta. It's not really near a big city, so I can't give you a landmark. Hope this is what you were looking for. Beautiful country up there.
