God is in control

"I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the Lord, do all these things." Isaiah 45:7

To some, this verse might not be very important. To many others, today, this verse is extremely significant. I live in Southeast Virginia...very close to where the tornado ripped through yesterday afternoon. We are praising Jesus that we were are safe and our home is not damaged, but my heart just aches for those that were in and around that powerful storm. Isaiah 45:7 shows us that God is in control of all things. He creates light, He creates darkness, He creates the heavy rains and winds. It ALL comes from HIM. The Bible also tells us to give thanks in every situation and sometimes it seems so hard to be thankful when devastation surrounds us, but we have to have faith in knowing that God will bring good things from this disaster.

Please be in prayer for those affected by this tornado that has devastated southeast Virginia as well as the Colonial Heights area of VA.

Blessings~

Thank you, Alyce, for reminding us God is in control in everything. It reminds me of the book of Job when God is questioned, he answers (38:34-35) "Can you raise your voice to the clouds and cover yourself with a flood of water? Do you send the lightning bolts on their way? do they report to you, 'here we are'?"

God is in control of all things and blessed be the name of the Lord.

I didn't even hear about a tornado up your way!!! We tend to have them more often than I prefer down our way, too (south GA.)

(If you add your blog addy to your profile, when we click on your name and go to your profile, we can then access the blog from there.)

Blessings, Jeannie

Alyce,
I'm so glad that you and your family are OK. I grew up in the West and have never experienced tornadoes. I can't imagine the fear and damage they cause. I'll be praying for the families who were affected.

Thanks for your comments on my blog. I live for comments! Just Kidding....but I do really enjoy hearing from you.
